The life of Court Gentry was nothing short of perfect and exciting, at least when looking at his career. He was the best agent the CIA had, and was damn proud of it, being able to accomplish the types of missions nobody even knew existed. However, the fateful day came when a mission was to be his last; a mysterious and sudden betrayal left him disgraced, with the agency putting a “kill on sight” order on him. This led to the birth of a ruthless and feared international assassin, known only as the “Gray Man”.

Sadly, not too long ago worldwide-beloved author Tom Clancy left a giant void in both our world and that of literature, but it seems he did not depart before giving us one last tour de force in Command Authority , a Jack Ryan novel co-authored by the renowned Mark Greaney. Now, before moving on to the book, some things should be made clear; Greaney truly did the bulk of the work on this one (as have most co-authors with Tom Clancy), and the writing is pretty much all of his.

When most of us think of warfare, we probably imagine ourselves dozens, hundreds, or perhaps even thousands of soldiers going head to head with each other, whether it’s with clubs and swords or tanks and machineguns. Over the past few decades though, warfare has changed tremendously to the point where technology and intelligence dictate who the winner will be without question. As it happens, relatively little is written about this kind of warfare, the one fought behind closed doors at headquarters, and that’s exactly what we get with Tom Clancy's and Mark Greaney 's  Threat Vector , a novel with Jack Ryan as the main protagonist.
